As my chapter in Oman is nearly coming to an end, I look back at my time spent here in awe. After living in Oman for almost 9 years and traveling extensively through the country (by car) I had never experienced Oman to the degree that I did this trip when I was on a bike traveling as a solo female. I must say, I fell in Love with the country all over again. In a car, you are just another tourist in a box, not connected to the outside. But being on a motorcycle as a single female left locals in disbelief, "where's man/friends " "wahid?" they would say... "so brave !" " come sleep at our place. " "come for coffee/dinner" people just wanted to take care of me - every single person I met . The outpouring of love and compassion from these complete strangers was absolutely beautiful, at one point, it even brought me to tears. Even when my bike would fall, people would help me up and then proceed to give me all the food and water from their vehicles making sure that I had more than enough. People always question the safety of traveling as a solo female, or the "dangers of Muslim country". I hope that you are enlightened and inspired from my post. I experienced nothing but the kindest human beings I've ever met in my entire life. Thank you Oman for this eye opening, heart filled, soul captivating experience !!!
