A classic in its own right.
Beauty and the Beast is a wonderful live-action remake of the highly acclaimed 1991 fairy tale.
Belle (Emma Watson), a strong, beautiful, and intelligent young woman, through a selfless act of bravery, finds herself taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in his castle.
It's a story of true love and looking beyond the physical appearance; seeing someone for who they truly are deep inside - something we all need more of today. --------------------
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this film or not, but I'm glad I did.
Firstly, the production is incredible. With its elaborate and beautiful sets and wardrobe, it's truly a sight to behold.
The story is entertaining and the singing and choreography is rather great, I just really wish Emma had sung live more. It was too obvious that most of the time they were using the pre-recorded studio versions of the songs. I think that's something I enjoyed about La La Land so much, they used their real voices a lot of the time, as they are, without being enhanced and tuned in a studio.
Secondly, Belle is an important character to have brought back to us, especially these days. She's got a good head on her shoulders, she's educating herself, she has self-worth and self-respect, and she doesn't change who she is for others. She's a strong role model for kids and teens, even adults. (CONTINUED IN COMMENTS)
