Contrary to what it may seem like on my Instagram, the gym is not my life. It's my escape, but it's not my life.
The other day, I came home to find a letter from @mizzou waiting for me. They want me to tour their law school. I never thought I would have state universities reaching out to me, wanting me to choose them to further my education. But it happened.
After my mom got cancer the year before I entered high school, I lost my motivation. My grades plummeted. I got caught up in the wrong things, and the wrong people. I graduated high school at the bottom of my class, and was embarrassed that all of my friends were going places like UF, FSU, UCF, etc. and I was going to Seminole State. But the day I graduated high school, I told myself I'd turn it around. And I did. I built my GPA from the ground up, taking it from a 2.3 to a 3.6. I found my passion for government and law, and I know where I want to take my life. I don't ever want to settle, and I don't ever want to be the person I used to be.
I'm 16 days away from my LSAT. And I'm motivated now more than ever to crush it. I study like a crazy person, but when you're serious about something, you'll do whatever it takes to make it happen 💪🏻📚🎓
