Today is one of those days it'd be easy to just hang up the camera, close the boutique, and go back to steady 9-5, Monday thru Friday, benefits, sick days, and someone else who gets paid a lot more than myself to handle the idiocy/laziness/lunacy/crazy/horrible/evil/entitled, etc.... From vendors, suppliers, etc... BUT THEN scrolling through my phone for a Meme or Quote for a pick-me-up I scan across images from my swap in the Valley of Fire Desert two weeks ago. I'm reminded again why I'm called to do this, not why *I* do it, but why I was chosen to do this..."Is that ME?!" "I didn't know I could look that good in camera!" "WOW! No one has ever been able to capture an image of me that I feel truly looks like ME!" Something as simple as moving an arm, a tilt of a chin, or drop of a shoulder. As easy as a pop of a hip, dip of the torso, or just a slight lean/arch/bend/twist...it's sad it took until 2015 for someone to take the time to do all of that and finally capture an image of myself that I felt LOOKED like myself, and from even before then but definitely since, it's my new mission to make sure every woman who dances in front of my lens, or through mentoring, gets the message! The message that everybody, no matter it's shape, it's, size/height/weight, age, etc...truly is beautiful, worthy, and loved! It takes a little more work for sure, a lot more training and attention to detail like clothing coaching, lighting, angles, and posing, but it's so completely worth it when someone who's never felt good about an image of themselves suddenly LOVES it, LOVES their body, loves themselves exactly as they are...and all because you took extra time and attention to do something sadly not many either know to do,care to do, or are willing to learn to do.
So, on both fronts, Photography and Clothing, I'll trudge on knowing this too shall pass, and that "for those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint"! Some days will be hard, hellacious even, but cling to the peace that surpasses all understanding knowing He has a plan!
