Explore theculturalcurator's Instagram It's a beautiful 'Hump Day' in the city, and I couldn't be more excited to unveil my most recent interview with Danielle Da Silva, Founder & CEO of Photographers without Borders.

Danielle isn't only an incredible photographer; she's also an incredible human who devotes herself and her work to making positive change on a global scale.

Though she calls Toronto 'home', you're more likely to find Danielle hopping planes, trains and off-roaders to some of the most remote parts of the world.

I was fortunate to snag Danielle for a sit-down interview while she was in town. There's no question this is a woman with so much to share with the world.

Find the link to this interview in my bio. ------------- This interview has been edited for length & clarity.

Explore harri_golightly's Instagram In 2016 A misogynistic gaffe by a presidential candidate acted as a clarion call to women across the world, to reclaim the dismissive insult and unite and galvanise under the banner "nasty women". A reality tv star known for his bigotry who famously said of women "grab them by the pussy" coined the battle cry of a generation of feminists. #nastywomen went viral and #iamanastywomanbecause preceded demands for solidarity and urgent change to LGBTQ rights, education, racial equality, reproductive health care etc. With the ascension of Donald Trump to the Whitehouse the momentum of the movement slowed but its zeitgeist remained. In the wake of the Weinstein scandal it has resurfaced again on Twitter with people using it negatively to highlight the relationship between Weinstein and Hilary Clinton, the original nasty woman. There are also a swathe of trump defenders and supporters attempting to reclaim the phrase by using it to discredit women such as Ashley Judd for failing to speak out sooner. As a generation we must sometimes be nasty to get shit done. With a blatant misogynist in the Whitehouse and men like Weinstein running amok in Hollywood it is vital women remain empowered and stand together. The #metoo highlights the breadth of abuse suffered not only by women but also men. The inevitable backlash of victim blaming and shaming is truly "nasty" and the need once again to rally against it as both feminists and empathisers is strong. The nasty woman is here to stay because as the saying goes; nasty women get shit done!

Explore gallionista's Instagram All about us on October 21 in Livingston, NJ!!! I am actually going to be able to see you, talk to you, and have you for TWO WHOLE hours to indulge in engaging, stimulating, and inspirational journaling activities! Where they do that at?!! No, really...where, because I think THE RADIANCE SERIES is THE ONLY one rocking the boat FOR US in a way that encompasses celebrating a practice that for SOME WOMEN:
.
➡feel is too complex to attempt
.
.
➡seems too intimate because she fears the thoughts that may arise should she be too honest with herself.
.
.
➡they have never seen the WOMEN IN their family journal OR have ancestors who were forbidden to READ OR WRITE, far less take the time to nurture WTF is going on in her mind, soul, or the external world in which she lives.
.
.
We not doing that over here. The Radiance Series is also my gift back to the women who came BEFORE me, globally, who were discouraged, not allowed, or physically hurt for attempting to understand themselves. Your struggle was not in vain, my foremothers...not in vain at all. .

Explore urbannasty's Instagram Him, though. Isn't trending with the guys is it? But we see you, assaulters. Pandora has punched through her box with ammunition at the ready as women connect globally to assess the damage. #metoo has surged us forward whilst simultaneously dragging us back into old patterns. This text art by #urbannasty @e_plank was one of the first responses circulating that questioned why we continually assume the position. Usually wading gently through watercolours, it's her textual expression that has grabbed our attention by the pussy. So, now what? If society didn't realise the enormity then I'm furious - so women globally have to out themselves to validate this!? And now we have social media validity, what will we do with it?
Here's a pretty impressive starting point by Nicole Stamp:

1. Practice these phrases: "That's not cool" and "That's a shitty thing to say". Say them to other men who are saying disrespectful things to or about women.
2. Follow some feminist writers on social media. Sometimes what they write may seem "exhausting" or "too angry". Put aside that discomfort because that feeling is your male privilege allowing you to disengage from an important conversation that womxn don't get to disengage from. Here are some accounts I like- but there are lots. Follow a few.

www.twitter.com/FeministaJones
3. Boost female voices. When there's an issue and you're going to share an article about it- especially if it's a gender issue- take a minute and try to find one written by a woman (same goes for other marginalized groups- seek articles about race written by IBPOC, seek articles about disability by disabled writers, etc. "Nothing about us, without us").
4. Boost what women say at work. Listen for men dismissing women's contributions and make a habit of listening and saying things like "Hey Zahra has a point".
5. Be mindful of how you introduce women- particularly at work functions. Role-model extra respect into your introductions. So often you hear men being introduced with job titles and accolades, and women introduced as "the lovely" or "the beautiful." See link in bio for full content. 1628131967822411268_4849704301
