😀 This week’s shout out for paying forward the gift of outstanding nutrition goes to our friend Jake! Jake is a boxer and personal trainer 🏋️ originally from Sydney, Australia, who now lives in the Okanagan. 🌞 Almost three years ago, he was introduced by another PT to the same nutrition system we use.  He was open to trying it because he was looking to boost his energy and athletic performance, and it came highly recommended. 👌

Old School exercise, and today I added in a slight variation on the reps... 1 rep followed by a half rep. I always try to add this in to one exercise when I work back as it allows me to make that MIND - MUSCLE connection to what I always find is a tough muscle group to connect with (back). .

So I decided I'm gonna switch it up a bit and throw in Strongman movements to my workout since I'm home and have the equipment for it. Today for legs I did the Yoke with 445lbs for a short distance. Then some other movements. My favourite stretch for Pec Minor. The pec minor is often very tight in those who have desk jobs, or are sitting or driving for too long. It can lead to internally rotated shoulders, which leads to poor posture, which can lead to lower back pain, which can lead to knee pain. You get the jist! The whole body works in tandem, but posture is of the upmost importance. This stretch can go a long way to improving your posture.

How do you stretch? Hold a static stretch like this for 1-2 minutes and every time you feel the stretch on the muscle ease up, stretch it further. This is where most people go wrong. They do the same stretch, same position and same angle and amount of stretch everyday but never progress the stretch.
