After a long day of work, I'm finally getting to enjoy the small Thanksgiving dinner I made for myself.
Despite spending my Thanksgiving alone and working, I am still Thankful.  I am thankful for the places life has taken me, the people ive met along the way.  I am thankful to have a wonderful husband who loves me and a great big family that I know would be there if I needed them.
At work today, it broke my heart to see so many of our residents who have no one the spend the holidays with. 
So enjoy your family time and Be thankful to be able to spend time with your loved ones and squeeze them tight!  Not everyone has that luxury.  And I encourage everyone, as we enter the holiday season to share your joy, love and kindness with those less fortunate.

Prevent Lateral Hip Asymmetry with Captain Morgan’s

One of the best exercises for developing hip stability, believe it or not, is the side plank. The side bending action created in this position engages the gluteus medius and external obliques - both of which help created a braced spine and stable hip. We are going to take this up a notch and add in some leg movement to mimic the step up you saw yesterday.

How to correct:
Assume a side plank position on your elbow with the palm down and ankles stacked with the feet pulled up towards the shins. Your free hand should be placed on your hip.
2. Perform a side crunch to lift your hips off the floor.
3. Take your top leg and place it on the floor in front of you.
4. Continue to keep your aggressive side bend while your pull the top knee and toe up, mimicking a step up
5. In a controlled manner, place it back to the starting position.
6. Dig into the floor with that top leg foot (engaging your inner thigh) as you repeat the same knee up toe up position with the bottom leg.
7. Place that foot back to the starting position. You have just completed one repetition.
8. Do not let your shoulders or hips roll backward or forward during the movements. Remember to keep your chin tucked and rib cage pulled down to your pelvis.
